My Top Brushes!

Hi Guys!
Today I wanted to share with you a handful of my favourite brushes because I really think good brushes are very important. I hate when a brush leaves bristles all over your face, that's the worst!

Sigma F84- Angled Kabuki
This is my go to brush when I'm applying my foundation. I don't know why I ever used anything other than this. It buffs the foundation into your face so nicely and flawlessly and leaves the most beautiful finish! Check it out here
Sephora 29- Blending Eye
This is my newest brush but I love it already! It blends the shadow so nice and effortlessly, it's the perfect size for your crease. Check it out here
Sigma E40- Tapered blending (mrs. bunny essential kit)
This is a great blending brush, it's so soft! It's the perfect brush to just finish off your look and bring all of your shadows together. Check it out here
Sigma E55- Eye Shading (mrs. bunny essential kit)
This is a great all over the lid brush. It applies the perfect amount of product onto the lid and just glides over with extremely soft bristles. Check it out here.
This is a brush of many uses! Putting shadow on your lower lash line, outer corner of your eye, inner corner, that isn't even half of them. It's a great versatile brush  Check it out here.
Quo- Bronzing Powder Brush
I'm not 100% sure but I think this brand is only available at Shoppers Drug Mart, which is unfortunate because they really do carry some great brushes. I've had this one for years! It's great for bronzer and you never really have to worry about it picking up to much product, which I love.

So that's it! Those are a few of my top brushes. What are some of your favourite brushes? Have you tried any of these before?

Review: Macadamia Healing Oil Hair Treatment

Hi Everyone!
Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Today I wanted to share with you guys one of my must have products, especially lately after dying my hair so much!

This oil has seriously been a life saver for my hair. Right now my hair is the most damaged it has ever been because I was blonde for a while and now back to brunette. I put a quarter size amount in my damp hair after showering and it automatically feels smoother and more healthy. If my hair is feeling extra dry that day I will sometimes put a little bit more in after styling it.

What Macadamia Hair says about this product:
Our Healing Oil Treatment is a therapeutic hair oil perfect for all hair types and is especially beneficial to dry, damaged hair.
  • Intense nourishment for tangle & frizz free hair
  • Hair that is ultra-smooth, manageable & shiny
  • Natural UV protection extends the life of color treatments
  • Reduced drying time by an amazing 40-50%
I really do agree with what they say about this product. It makes my damaged hair look healthy and shinny, and it just feels so much better. Since purchasing this product not a single day has went by where I don't put this in my hair. This bottle has lasted me many months and I'm not even half way through it. So for $40.00 I think this is definitely worth the price. If you're interested you can purchase it from their website HERE or pick it up at most beauty salons, I got mine from my local Trade Secrets.

Have you ever tried this product or any of the Macadamia products?

Emmy Awards 2012: Best & Worst Dressed

Another Monday, and I have a case of the serious Monday blues. All I want to do is curl up in my bed and avoid this cold weather all day!
So last night the Emmy's were on, I can never really get into award shows like this but I always love watching the red carpet before to see who's wearing what. Here are my top 5 picks for best and worst dressed last night!
Best
The best overall dress: Julianna Hough
The best colour of dress: Heidi Klum
The best figure flattering dress: Hayden Panettiere, I thought this dress looked so amazing on her petite frame
The best daring dress: January Jones

The Worst
The "I just made my grandmothers curtain into a dress" dress: Julianna Margulies
The worst fitting dress:Actress Connie Britton just looks frumpy in this gown and it doesn't do anything for her body
The "what was she thinking" dress: Julianne Moore looks so awkward in the dress, I love the colour but there is something about the top half that just doesn't look right
The "all wrong for her" dress:Kristen Wiig could of done so much more with her gorgeous figure but instead she just looks like she through this on at the last minute and ran out the door.
This dress looks like a mix between a old night gown and a witch Halloween costume: Actress Martha Plimpton

What were some of your best and worst dressed?

My Top 5 Drugstore Beauty Favourites!

Hi Everyone!
I've been pretty MIA this last week, between school, work, family and friend I've no time for anything else! This past week of school has been crazy but so exciting at the same time! I'm currently enrolled in the Event Management Graduate Program and I'm loving it! There is so much work involved but it's going to be worth it. The one main assignment we have throughout the year is to plan a event to raise money for the Children's Wish Foundation...in groups of 6 and a $0 budget! It will be tough because everything is through donations and sponsors but it's for an amazing cause and will be so rewarding in the end!
Anyways, today I wanted to share with you guys a few of my drugstore favourites. This is one of my favourite kind of post to read because some drugstore items are such a hit or miss, it's great to see what other people think of a product before you go out and purchase it! Plus you sometimes read of a product you've never heard of or maybe never would of thought to try.

I've talked about this product again and again. I really do think its amazing and it has covered up my dark circles so well! I talk a bit more about it here in my Favorite Concealers post.
Wet and Wild "Walking on Eggshells" palette
This trio is one of my favourites for so many reasons...
- it's cheap! ($3.00)
- very pigmanted!
-beautiful colours!
Revlon 3D Volume Mascara
This is another product I've talked about time and time again. This Revlon mascara reminds me so much of the Benefit "they're real" mascara but a third of the price! The wand is very similar with the spiked tip that makes it so easy for your lashes to look winged out. This is really a great mascara, I love wearing it with the MUFE smokey last also!
L'Oreal Colour Riche in "Pink Cashmere"
These are fairly new from L'Oreal but have already became once of my favorites! The formula on these is so creamy and smooth but also very long lasting. This is my favorite shade from the collection, it's the perfect pink that you can wear all year round. Also the colour payoff it amazing!
Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation
LOVE this foundation! It is by far my favourite drugstore foundation. Its extremely long-wearing, even with my oily skin and gives such amazing coverage without feeling heavy which I love. Down side to this is that in Canada it is pretty pricey for drugstore with a $16.99 price tag.

So those are my top drugstore beauty products! What are some of yours?

ps: Sigma just announced a new free gift with a purchase of $30+, the gift is shadow from their new brow kit!!. check it out HERE

Review: MAC "Warm Soul" Blush

Happy Monday Guys!!
Hope you all had an awesome weekend. I just started classes last week so my weekend was full of trying to wrap my head around how many assignments I have to do within the first week!

Today I wanted to share with you guys a new blush I picked up at MAC about a week ago. I had a wedding to go to last Saturday and the dress I was wearing was red so I wanted to find a blush that went well with it... plus it was just a good excuse to go shopping at MAC! The blush I picked up was one of their mineralize blushes called "Warm Soul". MAC describes it as a "Mid tone beige with gold pearl". When the girl at the MAC counter first showed me this I didn't think much of it because it just looked skin toned and nothing special. Once I tried it I fell in love! It gives the most beautiful sun-kissed glow to your skin with it's peach-bronze kind of colour. This is also a very build able colour so if you have a lighter skin tone don't be afraid of the shade when you first see it, I've tried this on very pale skin to tanned skin and it looks beautiful on all! It does have a tiny bit of shimmer in it but don't let that scare you if you're someone who doesn't like a shimmery blush because this doesn't shimmer it is more of a light glow. This is one of those blushes that anyone could wear and it would look so gorgeous! This is definitely becoming one of my most loved blushes and even overall makeup products, it's really that amazing!

What do you think? Would you wear this blush?

Tutorial:Simple Everyday Look

Hey everyone!
Hope you're all having a great week! Before I get started if you haven't already, check out the Followers to Friends blog hop going on right now, HERE. I've been finding so many great blogs through this hop.
Today I just wanted to show you guys my go-to look when it comes to using the Naked Palette by Urban Decay. It is so simple(trust me!) and I think it would suit any skin tone! If you try it out then tweet me a picture, I would love to see! @beautybyttwo

Step 1:
Take Bare Study paint pot by MAC ( or whatever eyeshadow base you'd like) and blend it all over your lid. This will help your shadow last longer and gives a nice shimmer to start with.
Step 2: Using a flat shadow brush(Sigma E55) take "Sin" and blend all over lid not going past your crease.

Step 3: Take the same shadow brush and the lightest shade in the palette "virgin" and blend this right under the brow bone, highlighting that area and making your eyes look more awake and defined

Step 4: Next take a tapered blending brush(Sigma E35) and the shade "Toasted" which is a beautiful light eggplant colour and blend it into your crease going back forth and blending into your outer V.

Step 5: Now taking a pencil brush and the shade "Hustle" which is a very deep purple colour and lightly blend this just in your outer V until blended with "Toasted"

Step 6: Now take your favourite liquid eyeliner and make a slight wing starting in the middle of your lash line going out. I used L'Oreal Carbon black liner.

Step 7: Lastly apply your mascara. Revlon 3D Volume and MUFE's Smokey Lash are my new favourite lash combo, I'm obsessed

And that's all! This is a very simple and natural look but you can also amp it up by darkening your crease, just apply more of toasted and hustle and add some eyeliner on your water line. If your interested in the brushes I used, check them out HERE and use this code to get 10% off and a free gift with purchase!Discount code "SB2012". Hope you found this helpful!

Also if you get a chance I would love it if you could answer the poll on my homepage on the right sidebar. It's just asking how you guys prefer to get replies on comments. Thanks so much!!

August Favorites!

Is August really over already?? I can't even wrap my head around the fact that the summer is already over and I'm back at school next week...to start my final year! yaahhh!

Hope you all had a great and amazing August! Here are some of the products I've been reaching for all month...
Revlon Whipped Foundation
I can't even say enough good things about this product. I'm going to do a review on it soon but overall it is...
  • LONG lasting even with oily skin
  • beautiful coverage
  • applied best with your hands(this is literally the only foundation that I will do this with)
Sigma Angled Top Kabuki Brush F84
This brush is seriously amazing and since the day it came in the mail (6-ish months ago) it has been the only brush I use to apply my foundation. It gives the perfect airbrushed look, gliding on the makeup so smoothly and effortlessly. It really blends the makeup into your skin and you'll never have to worry about it looking streaky. You can check it out HERE also use  SB2012  to get 10% off!

Essie polish in "Bikini So Teeny"
Love love love this colour, it is so unique and is probably in my top 5 favorite polishes of all time. It's been my most worn all summer!
Tangle Teezer Brush

My hair is very thin but I have a lot of it so it tangles like you wouldn't beleive! This brush has been a serious lifesaver, especially when I get out of the shower and my hair is wet, you barely feel it even going through your hair. ( when I went to take a picture of my brush I could not find it anywhere! But here is a picture from the internet)

L'Oreal Colour Riche in "Pink Cashmere"

I picked this up last week but it became a favorite so fast! The formula is so smooth and moisturizing and there is something about it that just makes your lips look so nice and full! I'm in love with this colour, although I think I need to branch out and get some lip products that aren't in the pink tones!
Urban Decay eyeshadow in "Sin"
This has been a favorite for a good year in a half. It's the only colour in my Naked palette that I've actually almost used up. I actually had to go and buy a single eyeshadow because I love it that much. It's a beautiful all over the lid colour or paired with a shadow like toasted from the Naked palette.

& Some quick random favourites of the month...
  • Big Brother( It's starting to get so intense, I was all about team Ian but now I don't even know who I want to win!)
  • Mini Putt( Pat & I have been going so offten this summer. He is a serious golfer and I've beaten him almost everytime, he was not a happy camper haha!)
  • Iced Green Tea Lemonade from Starbucks( this isn't really a new favorite, I've just been drinking them like crazy all month!)

And last but not least... here are a few pictures from throughout this month!
Hope you all had a great weekend!
